This specific model of UAV is obviously equipped with multiple electronic components so it is fair to say that this aircraft is composed of 80% plastic. It also features a miniature jet engine capable of reaching speeds up to 150 mph which is remarkably quick considering that the plane itself mainly consist of plastic part. Down bellow is short video talking a little more about the plane itself and with a demonstration of this aircraft in flight:
Now with one of these fully functional prototypes, I believe it is fair to say that this will highly encourage further research on 3d printed aicrafts and maybe even one day the research of small passenger planes. This is by far one of the most stunning discoveries in the world of 3d printing and I truly hope that more effort and research is put into this because it is energy saving, time saving and it also uses a lot less resources considering that there are probably about two dozens of different components in this plane. A more environmentally friendly way of building planes and other objects is exactly what this world could use.
Wow this post is great! To think that a printer could print an actual plane is insaine. I wonder if one day they'll make commercial planes and passengers planes... I love that they are environmentally friendly, the enviroment is super important to me and should be for everyone planning on living for many years to come.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Phil the 3D printing of planes could save us so much resources. But do these planes cause any chemtrail or does it produce less co2 than a normal uav or plane? And since it's made out of plastic and going a 150 mph wouldn't it break or be damaged? 3D printing is the future. Awesome blog!
ReplyDeleteFascinating blog. When I was watching Star Trek as a kid, I loved seeing the replicator and the fact that it could make food and so many other components on demand. It looks like 3d printers are the first replicators. What do you think is the most interesting thing they could make?
ReplyDeleteA few small issues:
- Unclear where some of your information comes from (With no sourcing, it can be considered plagiarism.)
- Some formatting issues when it comes to your page (ex. Your blog archive on the right hand side is very hard to read).
- Your unique opinion is not always clear or is vague in your posts. (Ex. sometimes it is just a phrase at the end of your posts.)
- Spelling/ grammar (ex. abale instead of able, perchasing instead of purchasing, capitalization of I, run-ons, there vs their, an vs and, etc.)
